Emigrant Direct vs. ING Direct

Happy Friday! I woke up this morning and my first thought of the day was how much I loved money. I got a comment on my 1st posting questioning whether I viewed my obsession with money as a good thing. What a great question. I think deep down I know that it would be better in some ways to be obsessed with other things. Like if I was obsessed with helping the homeless or curing a horrible disease. Then I'd be helping society. I'd be adding value to the world. Instead, I am just obsessing over someting very personal -- my net worth. Its very vain and selfish, but I can't help it. Thats who I am for better or worse. I love money and I think about it all day.

Today I was thinking about whether I liked my ING Direct account or Emigrant Direct better. I have both of course. I couldn't decide, its like choosing between your children. I like ING Direct because it was "my first" real money-market account. I like Emigrant Direct because it pays a higher rate. If ING Direct was a celebrity, it would be Lindsey Lohan. Its like the town bicycle, everyone's had a ride. If my Emigrant Direct account was a celebrity, it would be Stacy Keibler because it has lots of assets in it.

So I am going to post details of my networth soon once I fiugre out how to insert stuff like that into my blog. I'm still figuring this all out. I love blogging though, not as much as I love money, but still a lot.

NetWorthIQ has a thing they call a "badge". It is a bunch of html code that you can insert in a sidebar of your blogger template. It links your NetWorthIQ page to your blog.

Is your obsession like a Scrooge McDuck, "I want a huge vault with gold coins and hundred dollar bills to dive into," or a Ken Lay, "I don't care whom I hurt on my way to more money, and if I get caught, I'll fake my death and more to Aruba," sort of obsession?

Just curious.

Its more like Scrooge McDuck. I love having money just for the sake of having it. I haven't cheat or doing anything (yet) to obtain what I have today and I don't plan to. I'm just happy whording what I have today and obatining as much as possible legally.
